Ways you can make a difference:
The Ladybug Quilt Guild is a diversely philanthropic organization. Many of our activities are focused on charitable projects and donations to organizations. In addition to the projects listed below we support the Food Bank of Delaware through food drives held at our July picnic and December holiday party.

Sewing Project - Stockings for Soldiers
Christmas or patriotic fabric donations are always needed. Volunteers are needed to help cut out and sew the stockings which are donated, filled, and sent to men and women in the military.

Sewing Project – NICU quilts for A.I. Dupont / Nemours Hospital
Finished baby quilts should measure 30” wide X 36” long. Bright colors on the front and a solid color backing. Please use quilt batting and not Poly-Fil Fiber Fill. Finished quilts do need to be quilted but nothing fancy.

Sewing Project – Bayada Hospice lap quilts
Quilts in a variety of sizes are needed from wheelchair size to lap quilts to bed throws as patients are always cold. Quilts are given to patients and will be retained by their families after they have passed on.

Sewing Project – Sunday Breakfast Mission twin size quilts
Twin size quilts should measure 54-60” wide X 80-88” long. Quilts are given to children and women staying in the shelter and they go with them when they are able to move into a permanent housing situation. Donations of quilt tops to be quilted are also appreciated.

Twins size quilts measuring 70” x 90” are needed for both children and adults (unisex). Blocks can be 10 1/2” unfinished arranged 7 across by 9 down. Quilts can be tied or quilted. For 2023, 18 quilts are needed by the end of June.

“We started with a simple goal: to create and distribute whimsical pillowcases that give children an emotional boost and remind them that they are not defined by their illness.” Pillowcases are needed year round. Please use 100% cotton fabric, with no glitter, in novelty fabric.

Sewing Project - Project Linus
Quilts and knitted or crocheted blankets are given to children, infants through teens. The majority of blankets are about 40” x 60”, or what is called crib size. Quilts could be as large as twin for teens. Quilts and blankets can be dropped off at JoAnn Fabrics.
